  1. Salome says:

My favourite moment has to be Case 23’s part 4: the Lake, because I can’t even play it through without having a nervous breakdown :))

  2. Mario says:

Mr rabbit on the window of cube escape birthday!! Terrifyng!

  3. Astrid says:

My favorite moment was the ending of Cube escape: the lake. I really liked the game as a whole and the shadow in the end really scared the shit out of me 😛

  4. George says:

Roots, Summer 1904: Voodoo and Summer 1909: The Brood. I was legitimately holding my head and going WTF.

  5. Adrian says:

Definitely the end of Theater. You see the shadow on and off throughout the game and to finally have it appear and start to chase you as you retreat into the elevator was a great moment.

  6. stefan cass says:

My favourite moments are from Roots especially with the level where you put on different masks and that moon sequence with the telescope was fucking fantastic.

But also case 23 for its shear twin peaks vibe! Even the music had an Angelo badalamenti sound to it,
In general all rusty lake and cube series are phenomenal and is the perfect games for those cult kids

  7. KaLeigh says:

I always jump out of my chair in Paradise when you look into the puddle of water…I’ve played it 5+ times, but it gets me every single time!

  8. asia says:

“you took my favorite plague” from paradise. I don’t know about favourites (all the good moments are connected! how can i choose just one?), but it’s certainly the one i quote the most

  9. Sanskar says:

    rusty lake roots……best ever

  10. Ben says:

Worst jumpscare, at the Harvey’s Box ending, I throw my phone away!
    First RustyLake game I played.
    Result, screen broken…

  11. Miranda says:

It’s not really a moment but just the character of Mr Crow is so cool

  12. William Hu says:

My favourite moment wasn’t one I spent alone; having downloaded the entirety of both the Cube Escape and Rusty Lake series, I was excited to introduce them to a friend on a long plane flight.
I started them off with the very first game, Cube Escape: Seasons. The first room unsettled them a little bit but it wasn’t until the iconic ‘murder on the moon’ jumpscare that they really started getting nervous. By the time they’d reached the third room and it started dripping blood from the roof, they were muttering under their breath: ‘oh god, what is this game?’

The entire time, of course, I was trying not to laugh like a lunatic.

The games are great fun, but it’s even more fun to share them with others, see their reactions and talk theories with them. So that’s why my first time sharing one of the games with someone else is my favourite Rusty Lake moment 🙂

  13. Chinatsu Tsuchiya says:

My favorite moment :Birthday, grandfather shoots guns.Inpression of his face is very nice!

  14. Elena says:

I think that my favourite moment -and quite a jumpscare, at least for me- was in Roots, with the tarot cards and the little dummies! At first it wasn’t so scary tho, only creepy but in a good, Rusty Lake’s way, but in the final part with the cristal ball oh gosh, I remembered that I hit my knee on my desk…

  15. Patrick Jacquemont says:

I must confess I was quite surprised to find out what was blocking the toilet in Cube Escape Theater…

  16. Chinatsu says:

    Birthday:dancing grandfather.

  17. Miranda says:

Wow, it’s so hard to decide! Rusty Lake has such a vast amount of moments and it’s just all so overwhelming that it’s hard to pick something. Reading the comments, I can entirely agree that Case 23 Part 4 always made me turn the lights on to play. Rusty Lake Hotel was also so full of surprises and to play Paradise afterwards! What a rush! Rusty Lake Roots is the one that brought me the most emotion from fondness to disgust, wrath to sadness, everything all in one game. I’ve been following Rusty Lake since Cube Escape: Seasons and you’ve evolved so much! I just wow. So I think my favorite would be what draged me into this dimension of Mental Health and Fishing: the last bit of Seasons. When Laura opens the clock and see’s herself as the shadow. That blew me into this and I never wanna get out!

  18. Kuso_ says:

Must be the scene in 〈birthday〉when Mr. rabbit suddenly show up at the window. so scaring!

  19. Kai Lubbe says:

Elixir of life didn’t kill the pup, but…… ?

  20. Matthijs says:

Finishing the first cube escape I played: the theater. I was so surprised about this game, that I played them all after each other.

  21. Ben says:

“The past is never dead. It’s not even past” ??
it fucked me up so bad! ?

  22. Not-Psycho_Paul_1 says:

“The past is never dead, it is not even past.”

  23. Kim Swalwell says:

Harvey’s box, smoking fish, cracks me up every time!

  24. Zenzy says:

That would be the first episode. When the black shadow suddenly appeared outside the window. Really scared me that moment. ?

  25. Eruxnick says:

I really love when Elizabeth Eilander hides (sort of) in Rusty Lake Paradise.

    «Fear didn’t make me blind».

  26. Agustina says:

My favourite quote is “The past is never dead, is not even past”. In the games, you can change the past, so you can change the present and the future. This quote shows that the past will always affect our present and our future. And even if we can’t change our past in real life, we can change how it affect us

  27. James Stammers says:

Biggest jump scare for me is always the killer on the moon in cube: Seasons. even when I know its coming the noise just gets me!

  28. Israel Stacy says:

My favorite Rusty Lake moment has to be in Cube Escape: The Cave when you go into the lake and have to go around and collect the memories. It was awesome to look around the Lake and try to figure out where to go next. It was one of my favorite puzzles of all time. Just that entire part really made me want to get into the mysteries of Rusty Lake even more.

  29. Sanne says:

I’m very sensitive to jump scares and everyone get’s me, bit the biggest has to be Cube Escape Birthday. The one where the bunny apears out of nowhere with the family dying, blood and thunder. It was my first Rusty Lake experience and I was shocked, but intrigued as well because of the darkness of the games. Since then I’m hooked!

  30. Will says:

I always rember when I first played The Lake and I fished out the person from the water and almost fell off my chair after the jumpscare.

  31. Nolan Jeppson says:

Mr. Rabbit breaking down the door and shooting everyone was pretty terrifying; definently one of the most brutal in my opinion.

  32. Mike Read says:

My favorite Rusty Lake game is Cube Escape: Birthday! It’s pretty tight and even eludes to the next game in it! Happy Birthday!

  33. scherzo says:

I think my favorite moment might be when you/Mr. Crow save Mr. Owl in “Cave”, and he tells you to take care…

  34. Rebecca Morris says:

I’ll never forget feeding Mr. Boar the Shit Sandwich, such sweet satisfaction…

  35. blossom says:

    i want that poster

  36. Kamryn says:

My favorite moment was when in Birthday when Mr. Rabbit breaks down your door and guns down your family. Totally unexpected and freaked me out!

  37. crystel moore says:

Funniest for me has to be the boar on the toilet, Pooh’s and then eats his Pooh in a sandwich. This continues until you get the idea and get the tomatoes. Thought that was absolutely hilarious and gross :-). Love the games and the developers and thanks for entertaining me. X

  38. Mateus Alves de Souza says:

Sorry for my bad english since now; I’m Brazilian, and I’m trying to improve it! So, I love all the moments in all free games of The Rusty Lake series, when you have to run against time to resolve the puzzle or something very bad will happen; that gives me adrenaline! And of course, the story of all of them, and how the games are connected each other! Keep doing like this guys, you have all to get success!

  39. NotaPlant says:

Best moment was definitely in the cabine at the end of Cube escape case 23. When the deer shadow showed his head out of the box. It was scary and funny at the same time, just hilarious!

  40. Amy Kane says:

I love the analogy of water floating everything including full selves. At the end of The Lake: “Time felt different to me, like I did not only live in that moment but also my past”.

  41. Weva says:

My favourite Rusty Lake memory was wearing Rusty Lake T-shirt to my class and impressing my teacher… He is a grumpy unfriendly guy, our anatomy lector, but since then, he has been always open to a chat 🙂 I would have never guessed he was a Rusty Lake fan <3
But let me add my favourite game experience, gotta be finishing Seasons, it was my first RL game and I was blown away by the story, I have been in love since then!

  42. FlametheSeraph says:

Holy Crow (No pun intended) I can’t choose my favorite moment! I loved Elizabeth in Paradise, especially when she said “Fear didn’t make me blind” The moment I laughed the most was when your brother pops put of the ice, frozen for months at a time, and just says “It is pretty cold in paradise.” BRUH NO KIDDING ARE YOU OK? I love the creepiness and sense of impending doom coming in Paradise, but the small moments of comedy and mystery. It’s like your sacrifice won’t be in vain. I wonder if that was Mr. Owl and he wanted revenge or not. Also, when they pull the latter up so you can’t get out of the well in the final level YOU JERKS IT’S WET DOWN HERE! My other favorites would probably be the entire cube escape game, and all the underwater easter eggs. (I saw the same grave that was for my mother in Paradise!) Also, I believe the hotel is on Paradise, as the reflection in the water looks a lot like the shape of the hotel. I hope in the future we can have vengeance for getting burned to death.

  43. Lou says:

    Harvey’s Box – don’t look up!

  44. Rustian #1 says:

Isn’t it annoying when you just want to draw trees on the steamy window and the suddenly a corrupted rabbit shows up to give you a heartbreaking (and windowbreaking) moment?

  45. Stephanie Tresner says:

ALL THAT YOU TOUCH, YOU CHANGE

  46. Vladi says:

My favourite moment from the whole series is probably in Rusty Lake: Roots. The whole game itself was perfectly thought-out as it revealed the complex storyline of the Vanderboom Family. Having reached the end of the game, I loved going back to search for the golden family emblems in order to eventually “find the elixir”. This kept me rooted to the spot until the end, although using the word “end” here would be quite unsuitable. You know what they say, “But we will meet again, in this life or the next”. Thank you for creating such beautiful and unique games, I am a fan!

  47. Jess says:

I actually am in trouble deciding my favourite moment.. But if I have to shoot one now, I think I’d go with the first time you see yourself in the mirror of the clock as the black shadow in Seasons. Very nostalgic.
    Really thanks, by the way.

  48. BigBlue says:

It’s all Mr. Owl for me. The character is simply amazing, and the voice acting deserves an award.

    Winner (Theatre):
    “It’s showtime…”
The way that’s voiced is PERFECT.

    Honorable Mention (Theatre)
“Your mind is reaching a higher state of consciousness…” (Theatre)

    Runner-Up (Hotel):
“And Harvey: thanks for the bringing the cigars”

  49. Stephanie says:

Wow! Just finished Case 23 and the end was a doozie.

  50. Shones says:

That moment when you pick up boar feces while playing Rusty Lake Hotel and you’re thinking to yourself “wait, what could I possibly use this for?” The moment I figured it out, my face went “:O” [which wasn’t the smartest move since I was playing this during lecture…]

  51. Susan says:

The loss of her son. Knowing he wasn’t dead, and she taking her life; tragic. Sticks with me and the final realization of who the evil, black presence really is. Here’s to the matriarch.

  52. Mark McShane says:

My scariest moment was during the cube escape Birthday when the Rabbit busted through the door and I nearly screamed.

  53. Saki L says:

Omg I looooooove that old fashioned printer in cube escape the mill!!!!!!! MAN…WALKED…LAKE…(●´ω`●)

  54. Valerie F Baxter says:

in cube escape birthday after grandpa shoots mr rabbit and you click on him he says ” boom, haha ” his laugh is perfect. Revenge with laughter. Couldnt be better.

  55. James Liu says:

    “Please take my picture!”–Ms. Pheasant

  56. Kyle says:

Harvey’s Box was the first game I played and it got me hooked. So I’d say my favourite moment was at the end looking up out of the box to see the corrupted soul staring right back!

  57. Tanay Jaiman says:

I must say that the whole series of rusty lake is amazing!! But, the Rusty lake: Hotel is the best!! Can’t wait for the Mr. Crow Poster!!!!!

  58. Monika says:

So my favourite jumpscare was actually the first one that got me into your brilliant games. It was very dark, it was around midnight and I decided to try out some new app and I found Rusty Lake: Seasons. I did the first part and started loving it already even though I didn’t really understand it at that time (I still don’t actually :D). So I get into the summer part, get the binocular, go to the moon and this black shadow was the scariest jumpscare I ever had! So I closed the app, didn’t want any more of it and went to sleep. Didn’t sleep much that night tho. But then in the morning I decided to start over ’cause I couldn’t stop thinking about it 😀

  59. Marco Vanoni says:

My favourite moment is in Rusty Lake Roots when you find out you are actually William’s spirit and use the Ouija board answering to Rose’s questions

  60. zengdou says:

    中国粉丝来报个到

  61. Nathan Palmer says:

The end of Paradise, while I’m looking at that corrupt soul, as the scenes play out behind me, and suddenly Mr. Owl’s face appears, and my jaw drops as I realize: “oh. Oh man! I’ve been playing as Mr Owl this whole time!!!” Then I think about what he said. “Paradise will rise again” and I realize something else: the island is where the Hotel is built on! After watching the end, I wanted to gouge my eyes out because it was the most amazing thing in the world! Then I realized that gouging my eyes out would hurt, so I decided not to.

  62. Renata Collins says:

My favorite moment was finishing Harvey’s Box and discovering all of the Rusty Lake games. As I have played the series, it opened my eyes to the whole story and background of the Lake. Love it.

  63. SaraK says:

the moment when the rabbit shot the door in birthday.
that was the first time I really jumped.
and when the ghost thing appeared in the lake

  64. Judy Lyu says:

Seasons, when I saw Laura was murdered in the moon outside the window. Almost threw my phone away Lol.

  65. Gregory Lin says:

Just chilling in an old submarine, catching some fish, talking to an anglerfish when suddenly BAM! You meet a bigger anglerfish and a shark.

  66. Corrinne Tallman says:

My favorite has to be “All that you touch you change.” This quote brought to my attention the impact we as human beings have on each other, shaping and molding one another with everything we do.

  67. Juan says:

When I realiced I should draw the trees on the steamy window, and suddenly rabbit showed up breaking the window. Very scary!

  68. Mr Penguin says:

My favorite moment is when the phone call from case 23 is conected with the mill. That moment so much began to make sene for me about the lore and story and made realize I just beed to continue until I have all the answeres. I’ll uncover the mystery.

  69. Huub says:

Just the general feeling of unease during Seasons, especially the second and third ones. And then the part when you look into the mirror and it was a corrupted soul. Holy crap that game was amazing.

  70. Kalie Dykeman says:

Definitely during the end of the cube escape: the lake when the corrupted soul is taking over the cabin by far is the scariest part to me

  71. My favorite rusty lake moment was in roots, when the boy who was thrown into the pit revenges, and kills his uncle.

  72. Arielle says:

When I first saw the lake in Seasons, it took my breath away. The vibrant watercolor style was so sublime. I felt peaceful, but there was that edge of anxiety from seeing the woman in the distance. The whole scene felt like a dream I didn’t want to wake up from. I knew I had to finish the series no matter what after that and I’ve played every game so far. I hope I get to see the lake in that style again.

  73. Suji B says:

The part that threw me for a loop the most was how Rose was “created”. I was like “Did he really just use that jar…?

  74. Joel says:

In Rusty Lake Hotel, In Mr. Boar’s room. When after you collect his turds for his “tasty” sandwich, and click again, the red substance comes out of the toilet. That gave me a bit of a surprise. Thank god it was just tomatoes. At least I hope it was just the tomatoes…

  75. Niklas Peinbauer says:

My favourite moment is in Rusty Lake: Roots, in the chapter The Well Part 2. At first you think ‘I’m playing that other chapter from a different perspective, this is so cool!’. And then you realize that you gave Frank dog pee to drink. Second is probably every single time there’s a fish in the mouse/beartrap.

  76. 123 says:

I remember the first time I played Rusty Lake. Had never heard about the games before, and just thought it was a normal game. I played Birthday, and I really had a great time, especially while looking at grandpa’s great dancing moves, but suddenly I peeked out the window and saw the shadow with glowing eyes and rabbit ears….. Was sooo surprised when the rabbit broke down the door and just shot down my whole family! Well done? Love youre games

  77. Kamryn says:

I think the most incredible thing about this series is piecing the story together as you play more of the games and begin to understand the twisted characters and the motivations of Mr. Crow and Mr. Owl, but come up with more questions than answers in the process. Thanks for the contest!

  78. Maeva says:

The moment Mr Rabbit appears at the doors in Cube Escape Birthday reaaally scared me. It’s now my favourite

  79. Alex Liu says:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUSTY LAKE!A little late though. The first game of yours I played was Cube Escape:The Cave. And after that,I just fell in love with this series.I’ve completed every single game for more than 10 times so far,and I’ve introduce it to many of my friends.Guess what! They love it too.You guys have always been creating wonderful game experience for us.I LOVE YOU ALL!

    • Alex Liu says:

My favorite Rusty Lake moment was the time when I read the book in Cube Escape:The Cave for the second time. After all games are played,I suddenly realized what the patterns on the wall and the contents of the book meant.I went back to read it and it really gave me much surprise.Wonderful details!

  80. Oseana says:

My favorite moment when was in Rusty Lake : Roots, the family band, when they played a song. I loved that song so much I used to play it again and again. Plus the end was really unexpected. But I loved so much the Mr.Crow part when he predicted the future of the 3 kids.
Anyway love your game, the universe and the story !!!!

  81. Filip Petronijevic says:

The best jumpscare is definitely the one where the rabbit smashes down the door ,,Here’s Johnny,, style. It startled me so much!

  82. Roland says:

Favourite quote was “their will be blood”

  83. Julia C says:

My favorite moment was probably in the Mill, when the corrupted soul shows up holding Harvey in the attic and you have to talk it down…

  84. Joun says:

My favourite moments are when I’m stuck and I try to crawl into the person’s ear or other body parts because just a little too often, that is in fact the answer.

But for real – rusty lake is the best game series ever and that’s why my favourite quote and moment is “there will be blood” because it’s an important bonding moment between my best friend and me when we realised this game is right up our alley.

  85. Mr Crow son says:

My favourite quote would be “The past is never dead. It’s not even the past.” Love it so much that is on my phone background. I can’t get it out of my head now….
Requiem for a Nun, William Faulkner.

  86. 1Nika_ says:

Who are the winners of the contest?

  91. Lulu Brendlinson says:

I love the moment in Cube Escape: Arles after we cut off our ear and went through it and get out of it. The room seems pretty normal, until we look into the mirror. Man, I freakin love your corrupted soul jumpscares.

  92. Lulu Brendlinson says:

The past is never dead, it’s not even past.

  93. Random Person says:

    Favorite Quote:
    “Boom, haha!”
_ Grandfather, after killing Mr. Rabbit in Cube Escape Birthday

  94. 路倩倩 says:

Maybe roots. You must know that I was just a Grade 7 student as I first play this game .The fantastic story almost drives me mad! It is really a wonderful game as I have played! Wish Rusty Lake will have more better praise!
