Why not try out our praised Cube Escape series first? Let the cubes guide you the eerie and atmospheric point-and-click adventures with an "escape room" feeling. Currently we have ten Cube Escape games taking place in the Rusty Lake universe. Cube Escape: Paradox is our latest installment which is combined with a short film! Download them for ten on iOS, Android or play on Desktop.

Next to our Cube Escape series we created three premium adventure games with unique story lines taking place in Rusty Lake as well. Serve deadly dinners to five animal-headed guests in Rusty Lake Hotel, expand the bloodline of the Vanderbooms in our award-winning adventure Rusty Lake: Roots or stop the ten plagues on a small island in Rusty Lake Paradise.

On the right, you can find a list of all our games sorted by release date.

On our game portal you can play our free games but also find other adventure, room escape and puzzle games. We selected games with a fascinating story, ambiance or unique game-play made by more forward-looking developers.

Recap after The White Door Release

Recap after The White Door Release

Thank you for all your support here in this great community! We have read very touching comments from fans who had a great time in The White Door. We also read comments about disappointment; sorry to hear that The White Door was not for you, but thanks for sharing your honest feedback.

As mentioned we wanted to create something else this time: focusing on creating narrative based game with an interesting new gameplay. Almost like a visual novel. We knew it wouldn’t be for everyone, especially the hardcore puzzle fans. Keep in mind that we as game devs/artists also need to step out of our comfort zone (no inventory!) and try something else from time to time: that’s also a big reason why it is under our new label Second Maze. And you might be wondering why it took so long; we have 4 projects running along side each other. So don’t be worried in any case. We have a lot more of the old coming as well!

If you still need to experience The White Door take your time and enjoy the ride!

Thanks a lot for all your support ?

While white door was certainly different, I enjoyed it fully. Finished in one evening. Looking forward to the next one.

Don’t listen to people who didn’t like it. That game was beautiful, artistic, smart, and interesting. Keep going outside your comfort zone. You guys do amazing work.

Great to read your explanation! Personally I don’t like graphic novels but I can appreciate the art that is behind them! Looking forward for a new artistic but challenging game!!!

I loved The White Door — I’m also happy to hear that you’re still going to publish games in the more traditional Rusty Lake style, but I’m really glad you experimented with something new. And I bet most of your fans tend towards people who like experiencing new things ?

  9. Egor says:

I was thrilled by this game, it was something new for all of us. Honestly, I think, that puzzles in the White Door weren’t much easier than in other games (no matter would it be Paradise or Hotel or any cube escape). I’d like to say great thanks to all the authors, artists, game designer (and also to our russian translaror, we also love him very much))), who made those narrative games because they’re first things, which taught me to think over a lot happens, their connection and also to think from different angles and eyesights.
Hello from russian funs, we’re waiting for the new and new-old-style games!

  13. Richard Matheson says:

As an absolute fan of all the previous Rusty Lake experiences, I hate to disagree with the previous comments, but The White Door was a real disappointment for me. I found that it lacked challenge, it was so easy, it lacked peril, it was repetitive, dull and intensely bland. With the previous games, I couldn’t wait to forget what had happened, so that I could play them again. With The White Door, I can’t see me bothering to go back.

I am however, extremely heartened to hear that this is only one of several workstreams. I will be first in line to buy the next releases as this series of games is still the best around, despite this hiccup (as I see it).

I hate to be negative, as the previous games are without a doubt the finest available, but I would happily forgo the new engineering of The White Door to go back to scratching my head for days on end to work out the solution to a particularly prickly problem.

  14. Just me and my opinion says:

First of all, I love Rusty Lake games. Regarding The White Door, I truly liked the idea and the way of playing, moving things and the interaction, but the puzzles were way too easy and the hints were very at sight. It was also quite short, as it took me about an hour or a little bit more to complete the game. The narrative was really good, though, and the design too! Thank you!! Looking forward to more Rusty Lake games! Cube Escape and Second Maze. Keep up with the hard work! 🙂

  15. Carol says:

Greetings from Brazil! I love so much all the cube serie games, and cannot wait to play the white door (downloading now!). Keep up with the great work, guys!

  16. Harry Thompson says:

I do take onboard your comments and fully understand that stepping into something is a great idea, however saying that, why not release it for a fraction of the cost?
Previous games took days to complete, they entertained me thoroughly, however this one ended in an hour and I couldn’t believe it was finished. I then found the alternative ending and said, “yes, let’s get this going” to be let down again.

Sorry guys but this game isn’t for me but I wish you well in the future.

  17. To short says:

This game was for me, but it was mutch to short.

  18. Ryan Zollinger says:

Absolutely loved it, one of my favourite Rusty Lake games! I hope that you make more games with a similar split screen style in the future!

  19. Alex says:

Just finished playing The White Door and enjoyed it. However, being a big fan of the previous games, I have to say it was a bit disappointing. I think it’s great you tried something different and I liked the split screen play, but the puzzles were too easy and the game way too short (unless you would charge less for the game). The no colour theme was interesting, but I felt this made the game a bit more bland and less visually engaging.
If this was the first Rusty lake game I’d say it is fantastic, but having played the other games this feels a bit of a step backwards.
Sorry for the negativity and I think you did do a great job on this game, just wanted a bit more from it.
But keep up the good work, I love rusty lake games and looking forward to all future releases new and old-style! Thanks!

  20. Kjo says:

I was excited for years about The White Door, and was disappointed at first when I realized it wasn’t going to be what I THOUGHT. However, I tried to open my mind and appreciate the game for what it is. I thought it shed a light on mental illness which is important, and was something fresh and new. Once I came to the realization that this was a graphic novel type game, I tried to enjoy it for what it was. And I did enjoy it once I got over the expectations I had put on it. I found that I was wanting more after it was done, though, as it was very short. So if I thought of this game on its own without comparing it to your previous games, it really is impressive. It’s just hard to beat the Cube Escape and Rusty Lake games, as those are top notch!

  21. Mahadi says:

I certainly loved every moment, I don’t mind occasional stepping out of the conventional gameplay of the franchise. Can’t wait for the other 4 projects to be finished.

  22. Rusty Mike says:

    Can’t wait to play it!

Love all your games. I appreciate you guys trying different things.
Thank you for hours of fun!
