Dear visitor,

Welcome to Rusty Lake, a surreal place where anything can happen. We offer you the most mysterious game series you'll ever play.

Why not try out our praised Cube Escape series first? Let the cubes guide you the eerie and atmospheric point-and-click adventures with an "escape room" feeling. Currently we have ten Cube Escape games taking place in the Rusty Lake universe. Cube Escape: Paradox is our latest installment which is combined with a short film! Download them for ten on iOS, Android or play on Desktop.

Next to our Cube Escape series we created three premium adventure games with unique story lines taking place in Rusty Lake as well. Serve deadly dinners to five animal-headed guests in Rusty Lake Hotel, expand the bloodline of the Vanderbooms in our award-winning adventure Rusty Lake: Roots or stop the ten plagues on a small island in Rusty Lake Paradise.

On the right, you can find a list of all our games sorted by release date.

On our game portal you can play our free games but also find other adventure, room escape and puzzle games. We selected games with a fascinating story, ambiance or unique game-play made by more forward-looking developers.

We wish you a pleasant stay in Rusty Lake!

Cube Escape overview

Cube Escape overview

The Cube Escape games all seem to be tied together… some more than others… and what about the chronology? Which was the first Cube Escape? We have had many questions so that’s why we would like to present an overview of the Cube Escape series so far. This is also useful for first time players.

Besides this overview, we have also made an extra website: CubeEscape.com with the right order to play. Tomorrow we will make a new announcement for our upcoming project!

Do we actually have any idea who “Harvey” is yet?

    • tethernova says:

Harvey is the bird we keep seeing. Evidence:

      1) the line from seasons “can I eat harvey’s egg?” And then promptly eating the egg from the bird
      2) In Harvey’s box. The shadow reveals that you are the bird, and therefore Harvey.

      • tethernova says:

Oh, and Harvey also appears to be the name (or pseudonym perhaps), of the person who is writing these blog posts.

    • Chloe says:

Harvey is the bird form seasons. there is a sticky note that says “can i eat harvey’s eggs?” in spring.
also, during harvey’s box, you can see his shadow.

    • Aitor Petriz says:

If you win rusty lake’s hotel with all the stars, it will give you a secret code. You can use that in cube escape: birthday. There you will see who is harvey.

  2. satscout says:

Harvey is the parrot in the cage in the Seasons game, right?

  3. Harvey says:

    @satscout @tethernova, that’s correct:)

  4. Stas says:

each time I imagine: what if author of this site is… Harvey the Parrot?.. O_O

thank you very much for sharing timeline! Can’t wait for next chapter!

(btw, that means in Lake we played as woman?)

  5. Adam D says:

I didnt even know i was playing as the woman in the lake (i’m not that thurrough) Can’t wait for november! Now I can tell my friends about this more clearly with this overview.

  6. M says:

I will have to tell you that this is the only game series that I willingly play that scares me. Its just that amazing, (seriously though the monsters(?) corrupted-memory-less-dead people(?) cause me to freak out every time they show up on the screen) I am a little bit bummed that you won’t be continuing the series but I get it, we all need to survive(maybe in the future though? I want to know what happens to the detective) Anyways thanks so much for making such an amazing series!

  7. Nezumi says:

The only big surprise for me here is that Mr. Crow is on the list of characters you play as and the exact positioning of The Mill relative to Case 23. I’d gathered the rest by playing.

  8. Kariu says:

Now if you excuse me I need to play all the games again in the chronologic order

  9. Cricket says:

Is the woman also the shadow figure?

  10. Eileen says:

May I know when will it be updated? (eg. monthly, yearly, occasionally, or after a game is realeased?)

  11. v says:

wait i still dont understand in which order to play can someone tell me

  12. Natalie says:

Wait so the brithday party when it

  13. becca says:

Does this not remind anyone else
of Twin Peaks? The secret word “owl” in “The Cave”, the shadow people, the tile at the end of the cave reminded me of the waiting room at the Black Lodge, Detective Dale… And the one that nailed it for me was the voice on the phone in “Seasons”; it sounded like the little man that danced in the Black Lodge.

  14. Maria Eduarda says:

when should I play birthday, the cave and theatre if I want to follow the chronological order?

  15. John says:

Im so confused, can somebody give me the list of the games in order so i can plau them?
