Rusty Lake

We are Rusty Lake:

Creators of the praised Cube Escape series and the premium point-and-click adventures Rusty Lake Hotel and award-winning Rusty Lake: Roots.

Dear visitor,

Welcome to Rusty Lake, a surreal place where anything can happen. We offer you the most mysterious game series you'll ever play.

Why not try out our praised Cube Escape series first? Let the cubes guide you the eerie and atmospheric point-and-click adventures with an "escape room" feeling. Currently we have ten Cube Escape games taking place in the Rusty Lake universe. Cube Escape: Paradox is our latest installment which is combined with a short film! Download them for ten on iOS, Android or play on Desktop.

Next to our Cube Escape series we created three premium adventure games with unique story lines taking place in Rusty Lake as well. Serve deadly dinners to five animal-headed guests in Rusty Lake Hotel, expand the bloodline of the Vanderbooms in our award-winning adventure Rusty Lake: Roots or stop the ten plagues on a small island in Rusty Lake Paradise.

On the right, you can find a list of all our games sorted by release date.

On our game portal you can play our free games but also find other adventure, room escape and puzzle games. We selected games with a fascinating story, ambiance or unique game-play made by more forward-looking developers.

Check out our blog, social media or newsletter for new updates and content.

We wish you a pleasant stay in Rusty Lake!

What happens after Cube Escape: Birthday…

What happens after Cube Escape: Birthday…

coming-soon

You might noticed this little hint…And yes we’re working on it ๐Ÿ™‚

By the way we’re planning to translate our next game into as many languages as possible. We hope to find some experienced translators (with perfect English language skills) for this job. There won’t be a lot of text. Let us know if you interested: info@rustylake.com or write a comment and share your thoughts about this.

Update:
We’re a bit blown away by the many submissions for translating the game (a new and free Cube Escape). We hope to choose the translators within a week. We will try to select 2 per language, so 1 can check the translations. Thank you!

Will this be another Cube Escape or a full stand-alone game like Rusty Lake Hotel?

    Hello!

I would be glad to help you woth Russian translation! I have translated several games, including LucasArts classic adventures (like ‘Maniac Mansion’, ‘Zak McKracken’ and ‘Loom’ – unofficially of course), and some official games (‘A date in the Park’ and ‘The Capri Connection’).

I also write reviews and news about adventure games on Russian sites – I liked your ‘Rusty Lake Hotel’ very much after writing news about it (http://questzone.ru/news/EuVuuZklppgAOahtnA) and played all Cube Escape games after that ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope your new game will be as large and interesing as the Rusty Lake Hotel!

  22. beantowel says:

Question: will you just simply replace English sentences/words into another language or else?it may be better not to remove the original English in the game(there will never be a perfect translation ).

  23. riri says:

Hi!I love your games!Great storyline and aesthetics! I have experience with poetry translation. I’d be glad to help with a translation into german ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. taylor says:

No I think it’s very possible to translate something and have it just as good. Of course it requires alot of effort and the translator needs to be aware of the usage of both languages (such as the cultural background of the language, the correct nuance of it in certain situations etc) but if done with effort I believe the game will be able to appeal to a wider audience. Just my opinion on the matter ๐Ÿ™‚
