We are Rusty Lake:

Creators of the praised Cube Escape series and the premium point-and-click adventures Rusty Lake Hotel and award-winning Rusty Lake: Roots.

Dear visitor,

Welcome to Rusty Lake, a surreal place where anything can happen. We offer you the most mysterious game series you'll ever play.

Why not try out our praised Cube Escape series first? Let the cubes guide you the eerie and atmospheric point-and-click adventures with an "escape room" feeling. Currently we have ten Cube Escape games taking place in the Rusty Lake universe. Cube Escape: Paradox is our latest installment which is combined with a short film! Download them for ten on iOS, Android or play on Desktop.

Next to our Cube Escape series we created three premium adventure games with unique story lines taking place in Rusty Lake as well. Serve deadly dinners to five animal-headed guests in Rusty Lake Hotel, expand the bloodline of the Vanderbooms in our award-winning adventure Rusty Lake: Roots or stop the ten plagues on a small island in Rusty Lake Paradise.

On the right, you can find a list of all our games sorted by release date.

On our game portal you can play our free games but also find other adventure, room escape and puzzle games. We selected games with a fascinating story, ambiance or unique game-play made by more forward-looking developers.

Check out our blog, social media or newsletter for new updates and content.

We wish you a pleasant stay in Rusty Lake!

Wow I really wonder what he would say!~~(that is why Gin is exist!)

  3. RoteAugen says:

Google services are blocked in China. For fans there, it could be really disappointing when they find that the “secret” is not available due to internet censorship…

  4. Isadora says:

I couldnt get it, I give him the drink and he didn’t say nothing

  5. Harvey says:

@RoteAugen, but can can they see the google form? Maybe we can add there a link to our email.

  6. Tati says:

Estiu olhando o blog todos os dias na ansiedade pela surpresa por tras do gin tonic ♡ e agora? Vou aguardar em casa? Oh my

  7. Tati says:

  8. Julez says:

This is awesome guys! Thanks for the “secret” – my heart really started to move faster when harvey started “singing” for me 😛

@Isadora: let me give you a hint: you propably did everything you need to do. But he will not tell you this face to face – he might leave a message somewhere 😉

  9. Medlin says:

Is it only to get singing Harvey or there is something else to do after it?

  10. Isadora says:

Thank you guys, i could get now

  11. cho says:

hey guys maybe it’s not such a good idea to collect the home addresses of everyone who’s entering (unless it’s too complicated to contact 100 winners separately)

also i don’t think people in china can see the page at all, maybe you can make the link go to a secret page that’s not on google that has links to both the form and the website contact page

also also the link you get before you guys revealed the recipe (you made gin tonic without our help) is still at the doc you put there before and doesn’t link to the form

    • Harvey says:

Hi Cho, You have a point there, but it will be too complicated. We will be carefull with this data, and it will be deleted after right the draw.
We have got some Chinese participants already and we haven’t had an email that someone couldn’t open the link.. fingers crossed.

You need to refresh that link.

  13. Julez says:

    Hey Harvey / RustyLakeCrew,

I guess this is the thread you will read most of the time at the moment…so I’m going to say this here:

When you enter the bathroom in CE:Theatre and step towards the mirror your face gets blurry and everything.
But instead of “putting your face together” you can also step back and forth again. Afterwards the face has put itself together…

I don’t know if this is a bug and neither do I know if it only happens in the Android-app. If you want me to, I’ll be happy to find that out for you by playing the other versions 🙂

    Best wishes ^-^

Yeah, I get the hesitation to hand out your address, but keep in mind that the person collecting it has a reputation to maintain. Not only are they an indie game developer trying to get their name out there, but they’ve actively asked for press coverage in the past — ie, if anything bad were to happen with their users’ personal info, it would be awful for them.

All that being said, I am super excited about the prospect of the game bleeding into the real world and definitely hope my address is chosen. Feels like buying a chocolate bar hoping to get a golden ticket.

  15. Julez says:

Willy wonkas memory filled lake? Sounds nice ^^

I get the idea and totally feel that way, too 🙂

  16. Stefan says:

Great Secret… Really looking forward to may 15th.
You are great Rusty Lake Team!

  17. RoteAugen says:

    Dear Harvey,

The problem with Chinese participants is that the whole set of Google services are completely banned in mainland China. I guess the reason why Chinese players do not seem to have a hard time accessing the google form is that fans who manage to find the gin tonic recipe usually 1. like solving puzzles and 2. have a very decent mastery of English. In China, these people happen to be those who have the will and ability to find ways to bypass the internet censorship, too. On the other hand, for those who do not know how to open the link, it may suggest that they also do not know English well enough to write you an Email in the first place. That’s my guess why you did not receive complaints about it.

  18. rkevin says:

I’m Chinese, so I’ll explain. I used a VPN to bypass the censorship. My classmate (she told me about the cube escape series!) couldn’t access the website, so I submitted the form for her. If you are in China and want to see the web page, get a VPN or whatever that will pass the great firewall.

BTW, I didn’t really like the Chinese translation of Cube Escape Theater. Sometimes the names glitch up, and the names of cocktails, the letter in the pocket, and various other texts weren’t translated at all. But other than that, I enjoyed the game! I really hope the next one comes out soon, and maybe I’ll apply as a translator if I have the time.

  19. Harvey says:

    @rkevin

Thanks for letting us know. We check out what we can do about it!

We weren’t able to translate the texture images (letter + some other texts). It’s our fault if the names glitch up, please email us at info@rustylake.com if you see any other error in the translation.

    @RoteAugen thanks for your input!

  20. rkevin says:

    Harvey senpai noticed me! 😀
I didn’t explain the glitching names too well… Basically, sometimes the cocktails have weird names when selected in your inventory. For example, the screwdriver cocktail is called “crerer cocta”, which seems like the original name with letters missing. I haven’t found out how this works though, sometimes the name is fine, sometimes it’s glitched. Please look into that, and hopefully this won’t happen in the next game (can’t wait!)

  21. maj says:

can’t wait for may 15thhhh ohhh i hopeee i wiiiiiin

  22. maj says:

and i also hope this is worth all the hesitation and tense (of course i dont blame you guys, i blame the paranoia of having to see that shadow on that day/week!!)

  23. codeX says:

OK, okkk… Bob said that I have to play BADEGG on the piano BUT how you know our addresses or something about us ? A survey or something? else
