Rusty Lake

We are Rusty Lake:

Creators of the praised Cube Escape series and the premium point-and-click adventures Rusty Lake Hotel and award-winning Rusty Lake: Roots.

Dear visitor,

Welcome to Rusty Lake, a surreal place where anything can happen. We offer you the most mysterious game series you'll ever play.

Why not try out our praised Cube Escape series first? Let the cubes guide you the eerie and atmospheric point-and-click adventures with an "escape room" feeling. Currently we have ten Cube Escape games taking place in the Rusty Lake universe. Cube Escape: Paradox is our latest installment which is combined with a short film! Download them for ten on iOS, Android or play on Desktop.

Next to our Cube Escape series we created three premium adventure games with unique story lines taking place in Rusty Lake as well. Serve deadly dinners to five animal-headed guests in Rusty Lake Hotel, expand the bloodline of the Vanderbooms in our award-winning adventure Rusty Lake: Roots or stop the ten plagues on a small island in Rusty Lake Paradise.

On the right, you can find a list of all our games sorted by release date.

On our game portal you can play our free games but also find other adventure, room escape and puzzle games. We selected games with a fascinating story, ambiance or unique game-play made by more forward-looking developers.

Check out our blog, social media or newsletter for new updates and content.

We wish you a pleasant stay in Rusty Lake!

PAX West / Twin Peaks / Tokyo Game Show / Header Game / Discord

Hi Guys here is a general update, because there were a lot of things happening around Rusty Lake! If you are following us on social media, you might have seen we were really busy with the PAX West conference in Seattle. It was such a cool experience to showcase Rusty Lake Paradise at the IndieMEGABOOTH, we met a lot of fans and got the chance make a lot of new players enthusiastic about the Rusty Lake franchise. Our Rusty Lake pins were a big success and we will bring them to next conferences as well.

We gave Markiplier a Rusty Lake postcard, which hopefully he found interesting to check out 🙂 The guys from Toucharcade made a quick stop and made this nice hands-on of Paradise. Watch out if you don’t want to see that many spoilers.

After the conference we found out there was Twin Peaks Tour available. As you know Twin Peaks was and still is a major inspiration for Rusty Lake and the Cube Escape series. Throughout our games you can find many references to the popular TV series; Dale the detective and his qoute “That’s a damn fine cup of coffee” are the most obvious ones. As big fans of David Lynch’s work, it was a unique and awesome opportunity to see many of the original filming locations. We recommend every #twinpeaks fan to check out David’s Twin Peaks Tours if you are in Seattle! Some photo’s:

When we got home we made the HTML5 header game available again via our website:
Just click on the “Click here” button in the header (on Desktop PC) and play the small game. Can you find the secret?

We also made our own Discord channel available JOIN NOW, we still not sure how it works but hopefully the community can help us out here.

Next stop will be the Tokyo Game Show in Japan, we are very excited and if you have the chance to drop by please let us know! In the meantime we work on Paradise as much as we can and we hope to provide a development log anytime soon. Stay tuned as always!

glad to hear PAX went well! I think there’s a good chance Mark will do a series on all your games, seeing as he’s pretty much finished with bad dream: coma and will want something similar to play next. fingers crossed!!

I feel like I’m the only Italian in the comments lol. I love your games and I’m very excited about “Paradise”. I’m sad because, obviusly, i can’t go to the Tokyo game show because I live in Europe.
